5 Year old Coprosma Repens
Coprosma repens, or otherwise knows as Mirror Bush is native to New Zealand where it thrives in various coastal and inland habitats, and has become naturalised in coastal areas of southeastern Australia, including Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania
The habit of this species varies markedly with its situation. In exposed situations, such as cliffs, it assumes a low lying style while in more sheltered areas and it can also grow as a small tree up to 8 metres in height.
It has thick and very glossy leaves which vary considerably in size, depending on exposure to the elements. The leaf margins are recurved, occasionally to the extent that the leaf may be cylindrical in cross-section. The shiny leaves aid its survival near coastal locations.
Mirror bush, or Coprosma Repens, is a popular choice for bonsai due to its glossy dark green leaves, ability to thrive in drier conditions and relatively easy to care for making it a good choice for beginners
The Coprosma Bonsai is very resistant to drought, so its watering should be moderate. We will water only when we observe that the earth is dry. This plant does not tolerate waterlogging, so your Bonsai must drain well before rewatering.
For the Coprosma to thrive it must be in full sun, although it can also live in semi-shade areas, due to its resilient nature it can live indoor or outdoors.
Your beautiful lush apple green Juniper should be left outside in full sun to part shade, they can tolerate coming inside for short (2-3 days) periods of time to impress your guests.
Apply Bonsai Boy's Plant Nourishment fertiliser during the growing season.
The total width of the pot is 17cm wide, and the total height including pot is 38cm.
