Kyoto Serissa - 4 Years Old

Serissa japonica is a species of flowering tree in the family Rubiaceae.

It is native to Southeast Asia and China, where it is commonly found growing in damp, shaded areas. The plant is known for its small, delicate leaves and small white or pink flowers that bloom in the spring or summer. The leaves are glossy and dark green, which are small and oval-shaped. The Serissa is a popular bonsai plant due to its small leaves, delicate flowers, and easy maintenance. It is commonly called the snowrose, tree of a thousand stars, or Japanese boxthorn.

The Kyoto Serissa has very tiny dwarf with smallest foliage in the Serissa family. It rarely grows over 12" high and is native to the aged and holy city of Kyoto Japan. The Kyoto Serissa has single, white, trumpet-shaped flowers that commonly appear several times a year.

Your Serissa is relatively easy to maintain and shape, making it a suitable option for bonsai beginners. The ability to keep it small through pruning and wiring, and the fact that it can be grown indoors make it a great option for bonsai lovers.

Your Serissa should be left outside in full sun to part shade, they can tolerate coming inside for short (2-3 days) periods of time to impress your guests.

Water regularly to avoid the soil from drying out, the soil must always have some moisture.

In the warmer months of the year, daily watering will be required.

On top of ensuring your Bonsai receives enough water and does not dry out it is very important to keep the moss damp at all times as it will dry out and die back if allowed to dry out.

Apply Bonsai Boy's Plant Nourishment fertiliser during the growing season.

The total width of the pot is 15cm wide, and the total height including pot is 30cm.
