7 Year Old Japanese Holly
Japanese holly is an evergreen shrub or small tree in the holly family. This holly is a native of Japan and East Asia and can be found in thickets, woods, and wet places in lowlands and mountains all across Japan.
It's known for its small, glossy, dark green leaves that resemble Boxwood, hence its alternative name, boxleaf holly. The plant produces small white flowers in early summer and, if both male and female plants are present, small black berries.
The Japanese Holly is really good Bonsai material The Japanese Holly makes an exceptional Bonsai with its naturally small leaves, white flowers and small black berry-like fruits.
Your beautiful Holly should be left outside in full sun to part shade, they can tolerate coming inside for short (2-3 days) periods of time to impress your guests.
Water regularly to avoid the soil from drying out, the soil must always have some moisture.
In the warmer months of the year, daily watering will be required.
Apply Bonsai Boy's Plant Nourishment fertiliser during the growing season.
