5 Year Old Chinese Elm

By many it is thought that the Chinese Elm is the most superior, beautiful  and traditional of the Bonsai Species.

The Chinese Elm is originates from China and south-east Asia. In its native environment it can be a mighty tree reaching heights of up to 25 metres. It develops a fine branch with small leaves, which makes it a spectacular Bonsai tree.

Chinese Elm bonsai tree has small glossy green leaves and corky bark trunk. It  responses very well to pruning by producing mass of new shoots rapidly in the growing season.

Your Chinese Elm Bonsai will thrive in sunny and airy locations, but when temperatures are above 30 degrees, it should be placed somewhere with indirect sunlight to prevent the sun from damaging the leaves as it will burn

Water your Chinese Elm Bonsai must be watered daily during the growing season. During winter and the cooler months it's a good idea to feel the soil to determine if it needs water.  The soil should be slightly damp and never bone dry.

The total width of the pot is 16cm  and the total height of the Bonsai is 34cm.
